In this book, first a comprehensive and clear treatment of the fundamental aspects of photovoltaic energy conversion is given. Subsequently, both existing and emerging solar cell technologies are discussed, and a number of new approaches for future efficiency improvements, like spectral conversion, are introduced. Next an introduction is given into both off-grid and grid-connected photovoltaic systems. This book is completed with an overview of other solar technologies such as flat plate solar collectors and CSP technologies, and solar fuels.
