Cooling Towers Principles and Practice
Cooling Towers: Principles and Practice, Third Edition seeks to provide the reader with a better understanding of theory and practise in order for installations to be properly designed and operated. As with all branches of engineering, new technology necessitates a higher level of technical knowledge; this new edition seeks to ensure that the principles and practise of cooling towers are set against a backdrop of cutting-edge technology.

The book is divided into three parts. Section A on cooling tower practise discusses topics such as cooling tower design and operation, cooling tower types, cooling tower components and construction materials, practical aspects of tower selection, industrial applications, and water quality and treatment. Cooling tower theory and calculations are covered in Section B.
These include psychrometry, heat transfer theory and calculations, tower size calculations for a given duty, and the use of charts to calculate cooling tower duties. Section C on data and tables explains the fundamentals of the SI unit system and includes meteorological tables and data, as well as data on the specific heat capacity of some common substances.
